Aishwarya Rai Eye Makeup Tutorial

Here is a step by step guide to get one of the Aishwarya Rai smokey eye makeup looks.

Tutorial:

Step 1:

The primary step of any eye makeup is to create a suitable base on which the colors can glide on easily. I used Lakme CC Cream and Maybelline Clearglow BB Stick to prime the entire eye area and made sure that the dark circles are covered. To create a matte effect, loose powder can also be dusted.

Step 2:

Aishwarya is known for using a lot of grey’s and silver for her eye makeup. I took a silver grey from BH Cosmetics 120 Eye shadow Palette and patted with my fingers on the entire lid, extending to the crease. The color is quite intense and can get messy if not applied slowly and with caution.

Step 3:

Then I chose a pearly white shade from the palette and applied it over the grey shadow with the help of a brush. While layering different eye colors, it is always best to use a brush as the intensity can be controlled better. I started the white color from the center of my lids and extended towards the outer corners of the eyes. I used swift movements so that the color can spread well.

Step 4:

For the next step, I chose a shimmery brown shade and applied on the crease area. I started it from the middle of the crease and extended towards the outer corners. I extended it further down towards the lower lash line. This color gives a beautiful gradient effect on the eyes along with the existing silvery grey shade.

Step 5:

I took a fluffy brush and blended the colors with swift strokes. The next step is to line the eyes and for this I used Maybelline Colossal Kajal. This is the best kajal for smoky eye looks. I started by lining the inner side of my lower and upper lash lines with it. This actually is known as tighlining the water lines of the eyes. Then I drew a thin line across my upper lash line. Slowly I made the line thicker with 2-3 strokes with the kajal. I applied the kajal on my lower lash line as well.

Step 6:

I used a smudge brush to smudge the kajal on the lower lash line. I took another silvery grey with some mauve tint and applied it on the lids, all along the top of my black kajal lining. I applied the same color with an angled brush on my entire lower lash line. I took the fluffy brush and once again blended the colors.

Step 7:

This is the step where my eyes were highlighted. I used a matte off-white color shade and applied on the entire brow bone area. I extended the same color towards the inner corners of the eyes, including a portion of the nose. This softens the darker edges of the intense colors that I had applied earlier. This also makes the effect more dramatic. It is always advised to highlight the brow bones while doing a smoky look.

Step 8:

Finally the lashes needed some touch. I curled the lashes with an eye lash curler from Faces Cosmetics. Aishwarya is known for her long and curly lashes and nothing can be better than a curler to create the look. I applied a few coats of Maybelline mascara to finish the look. To give an exact impression of Aishwarya’s smouldering eyes, you can use false lashes.
