Children love butterflies. Their vibrant colors make them super attractive and fill children with fascination. Introducing them to butterfly face painting designs for kids is a wonderful way to fuel that fascination. Moreover, your children might love to learn about butterflies and other insects and even chase after them in pretty gardens.

One way to make them feel pretty, like a butterfly, is by painting their faces with intricate butterfly designs. Your children can follow some patterns and unleash their creativity. Here are a few butterfly face painting designs that your children will love.

1. Blue Butterfly Face Painting For Kids:

You Will Need:

  • Brush
  • Sponge
  • Face paint colors: blue and dark blue
  • Silver glitter gel
  • Water
  • Mirror

How To:

  1. Use brush and turquoise paint and outline the shape of a simple butterfly across the entire face of your kid. Make nose as the body of the butterfly. Use a mirror to view.
  1. Dip the brush in water and then use dark blue paint to outline the design in dark blue color.
  1. Paint the wings of the butterfly in normal blue color.
  1. Add swirls and antennae in every corner of the wings of the butterfly.
  1. Paint dark blue spots on either side of the butterfly wings’ swirls.
  1. Add a touch of silver glitter gel over the body of the butterfly and on the wings.

2. Sparkle Butterfly:

You Will Need:

  • Sponge
  • Water
  • Sparkle Lilac paint
  • Silver metallic paint
  • Black paint
  • Brush
  • Silver glitter gel

How To:

  1. Dampen the sponge. Dab the Sparkle Lilac paint in the shape of butterfly wings around your kid’s eyes and across nose and cheeks. The design should fade towards the bottom of the face.
  1. Dab the butterfly wings across nose and cheeks using Metallic Silver paint and the sponge such that the Metallic Silver paint should blend exquisitely with Lilac paint.
  1. Draw decorative swirls around the entire butterfly design using black paint.
  1. Add tiny petal designs at the outer end of your kid’s eye and on the top of her nose.
  1. Use silver glitter gel to add sparkle.

3. Pink Butterfly Making Eye As Body Of Butterfly:

You Will Need:

  • Sponge
  • Water
  • Brush
  • Silver glitter gel
  • Black eye shadow
  • Mirror
  • Face paint colors: pink, dark pink, and black

How To:

  1. Outline the shape of the butterfly with the help of brush and turquoise paint across left cheek and left forehead, and make her left eye the body of the butterfly. Look in the mirror.
  1. Wash off the brush and use dark pink color to make the outline of the design in dark pink.
  1. Paint the wings of the butterfly in normal pink color.
  1. Add antennae and swirls in the corners of butterfly’s wings.
  1. Paint dark pink spots on the side of butterfly wings’ swirls.
  1. Add a touch of silver glitter gel over the body of the butterfly and on the wings.
  1. Add black eyeshadow on the left eyelid to make the body of butterfly bold.

A Word Of Caution:

Avoid using oil-based face paints to draw butterfly face designs since oil-based paints are hard to remove, tend to smear a lot, and clog the pores. Use fabric based glitter that is non-toxic in nature to protect kid’s skin from damage.
