Assign each child a body part. Let him choose the animal of his choice. Remember, the body part, and animal should be a secret so that each child is unaware of what the other kid is drawing. You’ll need pencils and some construction paper. Once they are done, take the drawing and stick them together to create unique animals. If one child draws a lion head and the other the body of a goat, you’ll end up with Lioat! You can let the kids get creative and choose names of their liking.

11. Home Made Play Dough:

Everyone knows how fun play dough, this is a foolproof activity, and has been going strong for generations and generations. To make it even more fun and less costly, make some at home! Here’s what you’ll need: 1 cup flour, 1 cup water, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1/3 cup salt, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, and food colouring.

Steps:

  • In a 2 quart saucepan, add 1 cup of flour, 2 teaspoons of cream of tarter, and 1/3 cup of salt.
  • Then add 1 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  • Turn your burner on medium/low and stir.
  • Keep stirring until it starts getting a little solid.
  • Once it becomes solid,add the food coloring immediately.
  • Now the dough will start getting thicker and a little lumpy. Just keep stirring.

Remember

– the time it takes to make play dough depends on the amount of heat.

12. Karaoke Fun:

This is an entertaining activity for all ages! So, parents you can’t even get bored with this musical machine. Pick the songs of your choice and unleash your inner rock stars!

13. Strut Your Stuff:

This may be more for the mommies and their baby girls (even boys sometimes), as they usually love to play dress up! Let your daughter wear her pretty princess dresses and your heels, which will make her the star of the show! Here’s what you’ll need: 1 peach, cut into 1/2-inch slices (1/2 cup), 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch rounds, 3/4 cup strawberries, finely chopped, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup raspberries and1 1/2 to 2 cups of fruit punch.

Steps:

  • Combine fruit in a mixing bowl, and arrange the mixture into 8 3-ounce Popsicle molds.
  • Pour enough juice into each mold to just cover fruit.
  • Insert Popsicle sticks and freeze until solid (about 6 hours).

16. Art With Milk!

This is a fun little experiment that is easy and makes you feel like a genius. Here’s what you’ll need: full cream milk, food dye, dish soap, a shallow dish, and cotton tips. Easy peasy.

Steps:

  • Add milk to dish,
  • Add a few drops of each food colouringto the milk – the more you add, the better ‘effect’ you will have.
  • Dip your cotton tips into the dishwashing liquid, and then dip them into your milk.

You’ll notice how quick the colours move around and mix with each other. Wondering how? The fat in the milk reacts with dish soap!

17. DIY Tent:

For some good, old-fashioned fun, get some linen and construct a fort or tent with sheets and pillows.
