Jellyfish are some of the most venomous and dangerous animals in the world. You’d think that an animal without a brain couldn’t possibly do you any harm? Well, think again! But, the unique structure of a jellyfish, its bloated bell body, and tiny oral arms captivate most humans and, especially, preschoolers. So, if you have a jellyfish in your aquarium, and your kid spends hours gazing at it, you might want to further his interest through some of our top 10 jellyfish crafts for preschoolers.

10 Brilliant Jellyfish Crafts:

1. Tissue Paper Jellyfish Craft:

You Will Need:

  • White card paper
  • Colorful tissue paper sheets, namely brown, yellow, gray, and pink color tissues
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How To:

  1. Show your kid how to draw a jellyfish bell on the soft brown paper. Cut the brown semi-circular top out using the scissors and glue it on the white card paper.
  2. Draw small yellow circles on the yellow tissue paper and oral arms on the soft pink paper. Cut the small yellow circles and pink oral arms out as well.
  3. Glue the yellow circles along the bottom border of the brown head of the fish.
  4. Glue the pink oral arms hanging at the lower part of border such that it represents the jellyfish’s structure.
  5. Cut two small circles out of the black tissue and glue them on as the eyes of fish.
  6. Cut some small circles out of the soft gray paper and glue them on top of the bell.

2. Jellyfish Rag Doll Craft:

You Will Need:

  • White, pink, and yellow fabrics
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Colorful threads, namely yellow, pink, and black threads
  • Needle
  • Two black buttons

How To:

  1. Draw a circle on the white fabric and cut it out by using the scissors. The white circular material makes the bell of the jellyfish.
  2. Draw two long oral arms of the fish on the yellow fabric and two arms on the pink. Cut the fabric arms using the scissors.
  3. Stitch two yellow and two pink oral arms alternately at the bottom of the bell using pink and yellow threads and needles.
  4. Now, sew two black buttons on the white head as the eyes of the fish, stitch a black mouth below them using a black thread, and your jellyfish rag doll is ready.

3. Cardboard Jellyfish Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A cardboard
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Blue and white food colors
  • A paintbrush
  • White craft paper
  • Black sketch pen
  • Glue

How To:

  1. Draw a jellyfish on a cardboard and cut it out by using the scissors.
  2. Paint the cardboard jellyfish blue.
  3. Cut two white round eyes of the fish out of the white craft paper and glue them on the bell of the cardboard fish.
  4. Mark two eyeballs with the help of a black sketch pen.
  5. You can paint a few brown spots on the jellyfish’s body, and your cardboard jellyfish craft is ready.

4. Clay Jellyfish Craft:

You Will Need:

  • Lot of blue and orange clay

How To:

  1. Help your preschooler shape the blue clay and create the jellyfish’s bell. The blue clay bell should have oval top and a flat base.
  2. Also, shape the blue clay and create a few oral arms of the fish.
  3. Similarly, develop a few oral arms of the fish by shaping the orange clay.
  4. Attach the oral arms at the base of the jellyfish and your clay jellyfish craft is ready.

5. Jellyfish Craft Paper Patchwork Craft:

You Will Need:

  • White drawing sheet
  • Yellow and red craft paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How To:

  1. Draw a jellyfish’s bell on a yellow craft paper by using a pencil and cut it out with the help of scissors.
  2. Glue the jellyfish’s top on the white drawing sheet.
  3. Draw three oral arms on the red craft paper by using a pencil and cut them out by using the scissors.
  4. Paste the three red oral arms at the bottom of the yellow bell on the white sheet and your craft paper patchwork of jellyfish is ready.

6. Jellyfish Silhouette Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A jellyfish template
  • White drawing paper sheet
  • Pencil
  • Black food color
  • A paintbrush

How To:

  1. Place a model of a jellyfish on the white drawing sheet and trace the image of the fish by using a pencil. Outline the bell and oral arms of the fish on the white paper appropriately.
  2. Now, use the black food color and paintbrush, color the outlined jellyfish black, and cut the black silhouette craft out of the sheet by using the scissors.

7. Geometric Jellyfish Patterns:

You Will Need:

  • A book containing various geometric patterns
  • White drawing sheet
  • Pencil
  • Sketch pens

How To:

  1. Give your preschooler a book with geometric patterns and help her learn and draw shapes.
  2. Encourage your kid to draw different geometric patterns and create a jellyfish.
  3. Draw a semi-circular bell of the jellyfish on a white paper by using a pencil. Create a rectangular base at the uncurled bottom of the bell.
  4. Color the geometrically-shaped jellyfish with sketch pens.
  5. You can also create a similar fish with a semi-circular bell and zigzag oral arms.
  6. Similarly, try different triangular, linear, rectangular, and circular geometric patterns and create jellyfishes of various geometric patterns.

8. Paper Plate Jellyfish Craft:

You Will Need:

  • One paper plate
  • Pink food color
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Pink ribbons of different lengths
  • White or wiggle eyes
  • Glue
  • A black sketch pen

How To:

  1. Fold the paper plate in half and cut it into two halves.
  2. Use one-half of the plate making it the bell of the jellyfish and color it in pink paint entirely by using the pink food color and a paintbrush.
  3. Glue the pink ribbons of different lengths at the bottom of the fish’s pink bell as it oral arms.
  4. Glue the two wiggle eyes on the pink semi-circular top. This is one of the simple jellyfish crafts for kids to make!

9. Jellyfish Gift Tag:

You Will Need:

  • A stiff white card paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Blue, black, and pink sketch pens
  • A punch hole

How To:

  1. Draw a rectangular gift tag on a stiff white paper with a pencil and cut it out of the white sheet. Cut small triangles at the corners of the upper breadth of the tag.
  2. Draw an image of a jellyfish having a bell and oral arms at the bottom of the gift tag.
  3. Color the fish’s semi-circular top blue using a blue sketch pen. Paint the oral arms pink.
  4. Make a hole at the upper end of the gift tag with the help of a punch hole and your jellyfish gift tag craft is ready.

10. Jellyfish Candy And Cream Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A semi-circular candy
  • A few tiny candy canes
  • Blue, white, red, and black cream or icing cones

How To:

  1. Consider the semi-circular candy as the bell of a jellyfish.
  2. Attach tiny candy canes at the uncurled end of the candy as the oral arms of the fish.
  3. Now, make the shape of the bell and oral arms on the candy jellyfish with the blue cream cone.
  4. Create white and black eyes on the blue cream fish with the white and black cream cones.
  5. Create a round mouth of the jellyfish with the red cream cone.
