Most children are fascinated with the adorable Koala bear from the times of ‘The Kwicky Koala Show.’ Moreover, koala crafts for preschoolers are beyond cute, and any child would love crafting them. These adorable bears are not just wild but are the cutest animals, and your child cannot stop crafting. We have listed some of the top koala crafts you may pick for them. These crafts offer fun as you begin doing them with your child, and they also develop confidence levels in your little ones.

1. Paper Koala Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A gray colored square craft paper
  • Pencil
  • One black sketch pen

How To:

  1. Place the square shaped gray craft paper on the table with its gray side downwards and the corners pointing in north-south directions.
  1. Fold the upper corner horizontally inwards and fold the sheet in half such that it forms a gray triangle with its side at the top.
  1. Now, fold the two angles at the sides inwards as you see in the image.
  1. You will get a paper structure resembling two joined vertical triangles. Mark a point two centimeter downwards from the top end and draw two lines from the point such that they meet the corners on the sides.
  1. Open the gray paper from the bottom corner upwards such that two flaps go up. Fold the flaps at the marked lines at the top.
  1. Fold the small gray triangle at the top in half horizontally inwards.
  1. Fold the ends of the gray flaps inwards such that they form the ears of the koala.
  1. Turn over the paper structure to the other side and open one layer of the craft sheet from the corner at the bottom upwards making a small white triangle. Fold the lower layer of the craft sheet behind such that only a small white triangle representing the mouth of a koala is there at the bottom.
  1. Draw a pair of eyes and a round nose using a pencil. Color the nose and two eyes black with the help of a black sketch pen, and your paper koala craft for kids is ready.

2. Clay Koala Craft:

You Will Need:

  • Light brown clay and black clay

How To:

  1. Begin by helping your kid shape the light brown clay with his hands. Create the head, two ears, the face, body, and four legs by molding the clay as you see in the image.
  1. Create two eyes, one long nose, and inner ears of the animal using the black clay.

3. Koala Pancake Dessert Craft:

You Will Need:

  • One big round pancake
  • Three medium size pancakes
  • Boiled egg with white egg yolk
  • Two blueberries
  • Yellow apples
  • An orange plate
  • Knife
  • Green cream cone

How To:

  1. Place one big round pancake at the center of the orange plate forming the face of the koala.
  1. Place two medium sized pancakes at top sides of the face, a little below the big round pancake making two ears of the animal as in the above image.
  1. Cut a triangular nose out of the third medium size pancake by using a knife and place it on the face with its pointed end upwards.
  1. Draw two green nostrils of the animal by using a green cream cone.
  1. Cut two round slices out of a boiled egg by using a knife such that they comprise yellow part in the center with white egg yolk surrounding it. Place two slices of the egg on the face as the eyes.
  1. Keep two blackberries on the two eyes of the koala as the eyeballs of the animal.
  1. Cut a ‘smile’ out of the white egg yolk and place it below the nose and pancake koala is ready.
  1. Decorate the plate with yellow apple flowers by cutting them out of the flesh of the apple.

4. Watercolor Koala Painting:

You Will Need:

  • A white drawing sheet
  • Food colors, namely gray, black, white, and pink paints
  • Small bowls with little water
  • Pencil and eraser
  • A paintbrush

How To:

  1. Help your preschooler draw a koala on a white drawing paper using a pencil and eraser. Create the face, two ears, body, four legs, and paws of the animal as you see in the image.
  1. Now, add gray, black, white, and pink, food colors into different bowls, and mix them with a little water.
  1. Paint the koala with the food colors and a paintbrush. Color the face, ears, hands, body, and legs, gray. Color the inner ears, cheeks, and tummy pink. Create a nose, two eyes, mouth, and paws using the black food color.

5. Paper Plate Koala Face Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A white paper plate
  • Black card paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • One black sketch pen
  • gray food color
  • A paintbrush

How To:

  1. Place the white paper plate upside down and draw the nose, mouth, and two eyes of the koala using a pencil
  1. Paint the entire plate gray, leaving out the nose, mouth, and eyes, by using gray food color and a paintbrush.
  1. Paint the eyes and nose black with the help of a black sketch pen and let the mouth remain white.
  1. Draw two shapes of koala’s ears on a black card paper and cut them with the scissors.
  1. Glue two ears on the top of the plate with some glue and the paper plate koala craft is ready.
  1. You can tie threads at the sides of the face and use the plate work as koala mask.

6. Koala Egg Craft:

You Will Need:

  • One white plastic egg
  • Food colors, namely black, gray, white, green, and brown
  • A paintbrush
  • Gray card paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How To:

  1. Paint the entire egg gray by using gray color and paintbrush.
  1. Draw two eyes, a nose, mouth, and two hands of the animal on the egg by using a pencil.
  1. Color the nose and two eyes of the koala in black and mouth in white paint. Outline the hands with gray color.
  1. Draw two ears and two legs on the gray card paper with the help of a pencil, and cut them out using scissors.
  1. Glue two ears at the top sides of the egg and two legs at the bottom of the egg.
  1. Color inner ears in the light gray color.
  1. You can add a tree branch in the hands of the egg koala by using green and brown colors and paintbrush.

7. Koala Bookmark Craft:

You Will Need:

  • One thick white strip of card paper
  • Pencil
  • Gray, black, brown, and pink, sketch pens
  • Scissors

How To:

  1. Draw the face of a koala at the top of the stiff white card paper strip. Draw two ears, eyes, round face, and a mouth.
  1. Cut the top end of the koala’s face such that two ears and upper, round face are easily perceptible.
  1. Color the ears and eyes gray and eyeballs and nose black by using gray and black sketch pens respectively. Mark the mouth by using the brown sketch pen.
  1. Color the border of the rest of the strip in gray color and your koala bookmark craft is ready.

8. Thermocol Koala Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A large sheet of thermocol
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Knife
  • Glue
  • Black craft paper

How To:

  1. Draw the round face of a koala on the thermocol sheet by using a pencil and cut it out by using scissors or knife.
  1. Cut two small round eyes and an oval nose of the koala out of the black craft paper with the help of scissors and glue them on the face of the animal.
  1. Draw two small ears on the rest of the thremocol sheet with the pencil and cut them out with scissors.
  1. Paste two thermocol ears at top sides of the face by using the glue and your thermocol koala is ready.

9. Koala Cap Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A large sheet of gray fabric
  • Small black and pink fabrics
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Threads
  • Needle

How To:

  1. Fold the large gray sheet of fabric in half and draw an image of oval koala’s face with an uncurled base on the upper layer of the fold. Cut the face out of the fabric by using the scissors such that you have two identical faces of a koala.
  1. Place two similar koala’s face shaped gray fabrics on each other and stitch the oval border leaving out an uncurled base open for the cap to wear on your head.
  1. Cut two eyes and nose out of the black fabric and stitch them on the face of the koala by using the needle and thread.
  1. Now, cut two ears out of the remaining gray fabric and sew them at the top closed sides of the koala’s face.
  1. Stitch pink fabric as the inner ears on the ears and the koala cap is ready. Wear the koala cap from the open straight base of the cap.

10. Chocolate Koala Dolls:

You Will Need:

  • Round and rectangular chocolate mold containers
  • Chocolate cream in liquid or semi-liquid form
  • White and red cream cones

How To:

  1. Place the chocolate cream in the round and rectangle molds to make two round molds and four rectangular molds.
  1. Place one round chocolate mold over the other and make the face and body of the koala.
  1. Attach four rectangular chocolate molds to the sides of the animal’s body and make its hands and legs as you see in the image above.
  1. Join two small pieces of chocolate at the top end of the koala’s face as its ears.
  1. Create two eyes and eyeballs of the animal on the face by using a white cream cone.
  1. Make red nose on the face with the help of red cream cone.
  1. Create a round red circle in the body area as the tummy of the animal by using red cream and your chocolate koala doll is ready.
