13 Ways Kids Drive Parents Crazy

Kids know exactly which buttons to push to make their parents go nuts. Kids can be adorable and cute, and also annoy the crap out of us in seconds. Here are some ways kids drive their parents crazy that we’re sure every parent can relate to.

1. Temper Tantrums

Rolling on the floor when they don’t get a toy that they want, or sitting in the middle of the road when we refuse to give them ice cream, we have seen all that kids do to get their way. It doesn’t matter if people are watching or there are guests in the house, there is no specific time or place when they decide to throw a temper tantrum.

2. Breaking Stuff, All The Time

It doesn’t matter if it’s their favorite toy or an electronic device. Children love breaking and ruining things. While we try to encourage the curiosity genes in them and let them explore the remote control or battery, there is nothing that is off limits for them.

3. Why Can’t We Call The Moon, Sun?

Well, because it’s called the moon. While we love when our kids ask us questions that we find funny and at times too deep for their age, there’s no end to it. Sometimes we just wish that there’s a stop button somewhere that we can press to get some peace of mind.

4. Fighting

If you are a mom of two or, heavens be pleased, three, you know how they can turn the house upside down with their wrestling, shouting and crying. It can be over who got what chocolate, or a toy, or the TV remote; basically anything under the sun.

5. “Mom, I Can’t Find My…”

No matter how many times you say it’s right there, they cannot find it unless you come to the rescue. I admit it does make us feel like a superwoman at times. But when we are engrossed in something, that’s one less distraction we can do without.

6. Driving With Kids

Driving with kids whether it’s to drop them off to school or going for an ice-cream can turn into a nightmare with the name calling and fist fights and what not. We all remember the episode from Modern Family where Claire lost her temper while driving with her kids.

7. Making A Mess

It doesn’t matter if you have cleaned their room yesterday, or a few hours before, kids know how to keep it a constant mess. No matter how many times you ask them to put things back when they are done, it’s always going to look like a disaster site.

8. Giving You Away

“Tell Mommy isn’t here”
“Mommy says she isn’t here.”
Yes, we get that children are innocent, and that’s one of the most endearing qualities about them. But sometimes it makes you think if they are doing it deliberately and getting a kick out of it.

9. Tittle-Tattle

Your kid will come to you saying “John is not giving me my robot” or “Tell Emily to get down from the swing.” It doesn’t matter what you teach your kids about sharing or waiting for their turn, they will always do what they want.

10. Not Eating Their Food

Seasons pass by, but your kid will still be sitting with that same plate of broccoli. No matter what you say or do, it becomes impossible for them to chew and finish their meal. And, it doesn’t matter how long you have spent in the kitchen making their favorite meal, they can change their mood at any point in time and ask for junk food instead.

11. Lying

It’s easy to catch a kid when they lie because their lies are not well built which can easily give them away. And sometimes, it’s right in front of our eyes when they have drawn all over the wall, and have paint smeared across their face.

12. Taking Light Years To Get Ready

It’s a frequent incident that a shoe or a sock goes missing from the pair. And after finally finding it and when we are about to leave, they always have to pee.

13. Not Getting A Peaceful Shower

Forget the days when you enjoyed a bath with scented candles, Epsom salt, a glass of wine, and a book in your hands. Now, you cannot get 30 minutes in the shower without someone knocking on the door, or hearing something break, from the other end of the room.

I’m sure there are more instances that you can think of when your kids drove you crazy. But there are many more instances when you looked at your kid, and it fills your heart with joy and warmth that you have never experienced before, isn’t it?
