Being pregnant is a BIG DEAL, in every way. I mean, nurturing a life within you, while planning and shaping its entire future in your head. Overwhelming, isn’t it? What’s more? Well, your own physical and emotional challenges. While you might be super excited and extremely impatient about the arrival of your bundle of joy, your body is struggling to accommodate the budding life inside you. Your hormones are surging and dropping, making you feel things you probably wouldn’t otherwise. But, do you stop and notice? Do you make it as big a deal as it is?

Today, women all over the world continue working till the very end of their pregnancy term. Although their top priority is their little one, they strive to make life easy for their colleagues and family. They don’t halt; their homes and offices run with just as much precision as always. All this, just so that they can spend all of their maternity leave with their newborn.

Have you ever thought about it? A woman isn’t born knowing how to be a mother. She learns on the job. That learning starts from the moment she conceives. While the world has almost taken motherhood for granted because everyone has babies, it is NOT easy. One mother to another, only she can understand the fear of the unknown – the changes in her body, the health of her unborn child, its future, family, and finances. There is so much going on. And she battles with all of it, alone, within herself. So, what do you do? Nothing? Well, you can show her you care. Be with her, make sure she is comfortable. It will make her pregnancy way easier than it seems.

Pregnant

It is true, your work is your second home. I mean, eight hours a day, five days a week is no joke. This beautiful 3-minute ad is sure to make your eyes well up. The ad revolves around the unnamed boss and Shweta Mohan. The company is going through tough times, and the peon has been asked to clear out Shweta’s stuff. We then learn she is pregnant. She is seen cheerfully and zealously entering the office, only to find her stuff missing. Her reaction? Devastation! She feels that she has been cheated, and rightfully so. Knowing that the company hasn’t performed well in the last quarter, the only logical conclusion she comes to is that she has been sacked. It gets worse when her colleague asks her to meet the HR. What happens next is mindblowing. You have got to watch it! It is surely going to leave you feeling bittersweet. This one’s truly an emotional treat!

Prega News pulls the right strings and sends home a strong message, a simple thing that we should have realized ourselves, long ago. We must make our workplace friendly and supportive of those very vulnerable moms-to-be. And what better occasion to celebrate that thought and implement it than Mother’s Day? Because a woman becomes a mother from the moment she conceives.
