Enter teenage, and every girl dreams of having a boyfriend.
This could be due to several reasons. One, to fit into the group. You often see your girlfriends hanging out with their boyfriends, and you feel left out. And, imagine the feeling when your friend is head over heels in love.
Another reason you want a boyfriend is simply because you have been enamored by the mushy love all those romantic sitcoms show.
And last, but not the least, you want some endorphins (stress relievers), released by the love hormone oxytocin, which is produced in excess when you are insanely happy.
So, when a girl successfully does get a boyfriend, her joy knows no bounds. You know your friend is in love when you see these signs.
1. Daydreaming
Now, you may dismiss this thought saying we all daydream. But, wait a minute! Those in love daydream even more. A girl in love can dream with her eyes open, and you’ll not even realize it. If you assumed that she’s listening to what you are saying, you are wrong. She’s actually dreaming away.
2. Blushing
Does your friend suddenly turn pink after reading a text? Ask her what happened, and you’ll see her blushing away to glory. How cute!
3. Texting Non-stop
She is out with her friends but unable to take her hands off her phone. You will see her continuously typing on her mobile, sharing every bit of information with her guy and telling him she can’t wait to see him in the evening.
4. Bringing His Name Up In Every Conversation
She is so obsessed with her boyfriend that she randomly drops his name in all her conversations.
5. Giving Him Nicknames
Her boyfriend is named after a Hollywood hero, but that doesn’t stop her from giving him silly nicknames, ranging from ‘Baby’ and ‘Cupcake’ to ‘Honey Bear’ and ‘Handsome’. She saves his number under one of these names, and she can’t stop blushing every time his name shows up on her phone display.
6. Feeling Insecure
You are her best friend, but that doesn’t mean she trusts you with her boyfriend. She makes it very clear that she doesn’t want you getting too close to him. She’s got the best guy in town and fears losing him. She longs to be with him all the time, and she panics if he misses sending even the usual routine good morning, good night text messages.
7. Obsessing Over Her Looks
Ever since she found herself a guy, you see her making frequent trips to beauty salons. You see her looking up on YouTube for new hairstyles, makeup tips, homemade glowing masks, etc. She wants to look her best every time she meets him. She has changed her wardrobe, hairdo, and what not!
8. Flaunting Her Guy
If you have a guy, you might as well show off. Agree? Yes, we have all done it. The star of the college has lost his heart to her, and why would she want to hide it? She can’t wait to show their cute selfies to her friends, change her Facebook status to ‘in a relationship with’, and, of course, post endless quotes on love on social media. Sounds familiar?
9. Having Huge Expectations
She’s a sucker for romcoms and can’t get enough of chick flicks. She’s so into them that she expects her love life to play out just like the scenes in the movies. She begins to love the pasta he likes, she wants him to whisper sweet nothings in her ear or send her a bouquet of roses with chocolates, and she is waiting for the moment he will go down on his knees to propose marriage. Whoa!
10. Talking Endlessly On The Phone
It’s past midnight, and she still hasn’t put down her phone yet. They are actually talking nothing earth-shattering, but she just can’t get herself to hang up on him. She has to give him an account of how her day went by, and he tells her how all the girls in his class are drooling over him while he thinks she’s the best. And the talks go on.
