First of all, being low-maintenance and being boring are so far removed that we’re shocked people still club the two. Being low-maintenance and being introverted are also not one and the same, and yes, we’re going to keep saying it until people realize the facts.
So what is low maintenance anyway? Low-maintenance is an un-sexy word for some of the most delightful character traits that a person can possess, that any other person who is deeper than a shallow M.G. Road pothole can appreciate. In fact, once men’s desire to parade their dates at establishments where the music is too loud, the lights too dim and the drinks too pricey has worked off , they begin to realize just how thankful they are for their partner being low-maintenance. And if they’re single and with any semblance of common sense, they’re looking for women with these 7 traits:
1. She Doesn’t Need All Eyes On Her
She just needs her man’s loving gaze. Having a woman who’s all dolled up to have every eye in the room on her may be desirable for most men, but more than that they’re looking at whether she wants all of the attention that comes her way. If she doesn’t, it’s more hassle than she’s worth, and men know this best.
2. She’s No Drama Queen
She’s quiet, polite and a whole lot of easygoing, comfortable fun for those who know her. What she isn’t is someone who’s looking to steal everyone’s thunder, always having the last word or looking over to her boyfriend to “deal with” anyone that happens to disagree with her. No thank you.
3. She’d Rather Stay In With You Than Fuss About Where To Go
She’s just as inclined as anyone to check out that new happening place, but she doesn’t have some sort of magnetic attraction to it. That’s to say, where to go isn’t the important thing to her, it’s spending time with her man. Netflix, cuddling and chill, anyone?
4. She’s Easygoing
This means that she can live with a bar of Cinthol over her usual boutique soap that’s made with the lard of baby pandas. We’re kidding, she doesn’t have a boutique soap, and if she did, it would be ethical and sensible.
5. Her Expectations Aren’t Like Petrol Prices
That’s to say, they’re stable, not always on an upswing. She appreciates the odd expensive gift, treat and vacation, but she’s perfectly content the times you go out on a business trip and come back with nothing more than an in-flight magazine.
6. She Doesn’t Need To Be Given 3 Hours Notice
To get ready! She does better than your jeans and baggy hoodie, but she can get ready quicker than you when she needs to, while still looking simply beautiful.
7. She’ll have Your Ass On The Road If You Muck Up
Being low maintenance doesn’t give you the right to take the relationship easy on the whole or to be an unromantic, unwashed, unfaithful slob. Or whatever. She’ll have you on the curb, and given the fact that she’s so sensible, rational and drama-free, there’ll be no second chance either.
