5 Struggles Every Mom Keeps To Herself
Most of us have had the privilege of growing up in a home with loving, caring, and perhaps strict mothers. Whether you’ve had a mom who nags you all the time or someone who scolds you for not being your best self, the more you grow up, the more you realize that every mother is a superwoman in her way. They always put us first, celebrate our little and big wins, and comfort us every time we are down. Not to mention the delicious food they prepare for us tirelessly. But have you ever stopped to think about the struggles mothers face? Most mothers are strong women and don’t talk about the difficulties they endure every day because they are busy taking care of everyone else. So we are here with 5 struggles that every mom keeps to herself:
1. Strike A Balance Between Parent And Friend
As kids, mothers are your best friends. Because they take such good care of you and play with you, it’s easy to find a friend in them. But as you grow up, you start to confide in your friends and slowly distance yourself from your mother. Mothers know that they might have to let go of their munchkins, and as much as this pains them, they accept it as a part of their lives. A mother’s primary role is to inculcate a good value system in their children and to do that; sometimes, they cannot be a friend.
2. Shed Tears For Her Children
Someone wise once said that if you intentionally hurt your mother, there is a special place for you in hell. Perhaps they were right because mothers are your biggest supporters and well-wishers. They always forgive you no matter how rudely you speak to them. Mother shed tears for her children in sadness, anger, and joy.
3. Her Life Transformed Since She Had You
From being a regular woman to a mother, her life changed overnight ever since she delivered you. The only priority in her life became you. She used to be someone who put herself and her needs first, but she stopped thinking about what she needs since you came into her life. Her focus shifted, and it centered around you. Your mom accepted this drastic change because she loves you and happily sacrificed huge parts of her life for you.
4. She Sacrificed Her Sleep For You
Not only when you were a baby but also after you grew up. She woke you up during exams, made your delicious snacks, and disrupted her sleep for you so your hard work can pay off. After you started coming home past curfew, she stayed up worried about you. When you reached home, she would ask you if you ate rather than why you are late.
5. Protects You From Family Drama
Your mom has had her fair share of struggles since she’s been married with extended family, relatives, in-laws, and others. She put up with criticism, biased opinions, and blame, but she always shielded you from them. Your mother will be unfazed by what people say if it’s about her, but when it becomes about her children, her maternal instincts kick in, and she will shut them up. Probably even fight them to protect you.
Mothers are blessings in our lives. Every mom always says that being a mother is a thankless job because we tend to take them for granted. We know they’ll always protect us and keep us safe. They’ll always be our comfort and haven, and still, we don’t treat them right. It’s time we learn to appreciate them more and stop taking them for a ride because moms are the superwomen that we probably don’t deserve.
