Your perineum went through a lot and it needs proper care to heal. We are not going to lie and give you false hopes that it’s gonna be easy. But being prepared will get you through this rocky road. Having all the products that you may need will help you in a major way to get your swag on postpartum.

Maxi-Pads

You will start bleeding a lot soon after your baby is born. It may vary from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy. It usually lasts up to 4-6 weeks. Your regular pads won’t suffice. So stock up on the maxi-pads as soon as you can.

Mesh Granny Panties

You knew postpartum is not going to be sexy. Buy a few pairs of mesh granny panties for those days of heavy bleeding. You might have seen celebrities like Kristen Bell and Chrissy Teigen sporting their mesh underpants after giving birth. They are comfortable, which is your lady bit’s topmost priority after birth. What’s more? You can throw it at the end of the day as it’s disposable. There’s no hassle of washing it.

Stool Softener

You might have to deal with constipation after having your baby. Having a stool softener will help you do your business with much ease. Your hospital might hand you one if you are in luck. Talk to your doctor to check if you really need one.

Squirt Bottle/Peri Bottle

The tears and swelling after vaginal birth can make peeing a dreading experience for you. That’s where the peri bottle comes in! A peri bottle is a handheld squirt bottle for your perineum if you didn’t already know. You can fill it with warm water to rinse and clean your perineum. It can also provide you with some comfort down there.

Ice Packs

You can make a home-made ice pack to soothe the pain in your perineum. Fill a plastic bag with a zip lock or a rubber glove or even a gel ice pack. Try to keep the ice pack in between your legs for about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove it for 10 minutes and repeat it again. This simple step can make your va-jay-jay happy.

Pain-Relieving Spray

Buy a good pain-relieving spray to numb and provide some relief to your private parts. You will be thankful for it. Things down there can be sore and painful, and you might want to do everything you can to numb the area.

Sitz Bath

Using a sitz bath can help you with the healing process down there. It can also help ease pain and soreness. You can also make a sitz bath of your own by filling up your bathtub. But whichever way you choose, make sure that it is thoroughly cleaned, and don’t forget to maintain proper hygiene at all times.

Witch Hazel Pad

Use a chilled witch hazel pad between the pad and your perineum or dab it on your perineum for some time. It will help reduce the swelling and soothe the area.

No one promised a smooth sail for your lady bits after having a baby. But stocking up on all the supplies that you may need can help you deal with everything that comes your way much more efficiently. Also, have a checkup with your doctor to know if you are healing properly down there and make sure there’s no sign of infections. You can also talk to your doctor about any concerns that you may have after giving birth, whether it is physical or emotional.
