Whenever we notice something wrong with our body, what is the first thing that we do? We immediately go and visit the doctor. However, for every little thing, we cannot rush to the doctor. Well, what can we do then? Here’s some good news. What if we tell you that you can get rid of body pains or muscle soreness with just a clothespin?

Are you wondering how? Here’s the answer – by placing it on your ear. “Our ears contain several nerve endings and each ear contains a reflex map of the body, rich with nerve endings and multiple connectors to the central nervous system”, says Helen Chin Lui, Reflexologist.

Thus, applying pressure to the corresponding nerve endings will relieve the pain and to apply that pressure, all you need is a clothespin. Here’s how you can use a clothespin to get rid of body pains:

1. If you have back pain, take a clothespin and place it on the top part of your ear. This will give you instant relief from the back and shoulder pain.

2. Placing the clothespin on the section next to the topmost portion of the ear soothes down mild discomfort in all the organs of the body. However, if you are experiencing a lot discomfort, seek medical advice.

3. If you have joint pain, place the pin on the upper middle section of your ear.

4. If you’re suffering from sinus or other throat-related issues, place the pin on the lower middle section of your ear, skipping over the exact middle position.

5. Try putting the pin right above the earlobe, i.e., the upper bottom section of your ear to soothe an upset stomach or cure indigestion.

6. And finally, if you are suffering from a headache due to tension, place the pin on your earlobe. You will notice that your pain will gradually subside.

Here is a pictorial representation of the six positions for your reference:

However, if you’re undergoing some medical treatment, avoid doing this as it can cause discomfort. You need to keep in mind that the level of effectiveness varies from person to person.
