5 Signs Your Life Is Meant For Something Bigger
Life, at times, can seem mundane, lethargic, and quite tedious. The ordinariness of it makes us itch for something exciting and different from the day-to-day grind. At times, a short weekend getaway, a family trip abroad, learning a new skill set or gossiping with friends over a cup of chai are instant remedies for our monotonous routine. But there are some of us who don’t quite fit into this mold. A temporary reprieve is not enough. We’re on a quest for something bigger, better, and grander in life. There’s a constant feeling that we are meant for more, destined for more.
Here are 5 signs that can help you determine this.
1. When Inspiration Strikes
You tend to procrastinate, often putting tasks off until you really do need to do them. While most may view it as a sign of laziness, you look at it as an absence of inspiration. You are at your best when inspiration strikes. You are also never fully satisfied with your output, always feeling that you could do a much better job, something more meaningful. Your expectations make you push yourself to always give your best shot. This may result in procrastination as you strive to better yourself. And inspiration works as the right motivation in this case. You become unstoppable and accomplish anything you set your mind to.
2. Being Passionate About What You Do
You love the freedom that comes in making your own choices, and you invariably choose to do things that make you happy. This, in turn, makes you more passionate about your work as it comes from a place of genuine interest rather than obligation. A 9-5 job was never your thing. Even while growing up, you probably dreamed of setting up your own venture instead of working for someone else. You don’t conform to society’s expectations of what one should do. You’ve always dreamt big. Your drive to excel, your perseverance to do more and do better – all these things make you very passionate about what you do.
3. Idealistic Nature
You are an idealist by nature. You strive for perfection. Many view this as unrealistic, but for you, anything is possible. You set out to make your dreams come true, no matter how big or impractical they may seem. While others may give up or move on if things are not working out as imagined, you, on the other hand, will endeavor to make it happen for you, finding different avenues if need be to do so. You form your own unique path.
4. Too Many Ideas
Your mind is filled with too many ideas. There are too many things you want to do. Successful people learn how to pick out the best ideas from a bunch of them and concentrate on the ones that give them maximum results. The key is in learning how to evaluate which ideas to spend time on so as to get you one step closer to achieving your goals. You are someone who’s able to focus on your best ideas and weed out the trivial ones.
5. Seeker Of Knowledge
Your thirst for knowledge is what sets you apart. You are constantly learning new things, trying to keep yourself updated with the latest trends, looking for new information. You consider yourself a lifelong student – always learning, always asking, always on a quest to evolve. You seek this so you can do better, so you can be better, even the best.
Many of us aspire for greatness, but what sets successful people apart is their ability to take risks, to put in the work required to achieve it, and their dedication to make it happen. They don’t let the fear of failure discourage them. As a dear friend once said, the difference between those who only aspire, and those who in fact achieve, is what they do about it. In other words, who you are and who you want to be is what you do.
If any of these signs resonate with you, your life is meant for something bigger!
