Step 1: Prepare A Haircare Concoction

The first step of this 6-step action involves taking a small bowl and adding a tablespoon of castor oil in it. Why this oil? Because castor oil is the elixir your hair needs to solve a multitude of problems! Packing in a bunch of hair-friendly nutrients, castor oil can reduce the symptoms of hair loss and promote new hair growth. It can also decrease the chances of hair breakage and dandruff as it’s instrumental in keeping scalp inflammation at bay. It keeps your hair thick and healthy and naturally conditions it so you get hair that’s full of vitality!

In the same bowl in which you put the castor oil, add 1 tbsp. of olive oil as well. Olive oil has long been used by the Mediterranean people as both a cooking medium and a beauty product. And we all know how gorgeous their hair really is! Moreover, olive oil protects your hair against (as well as heals it from) any damage that may afflict your mane. This oil is also quite helpful in frizz reduction, so you can have hair that’s easy to tame. Hence, if you’ve curly or frizzy hair, make sure you don’t skip this step! Olive oil can also be instrumental in treating dandruff and promoting hair growth (1).

For the third step, you have to add a dash of coconut oil into the mixture you have prepared so far. The use of coconut oil in this concoction is not just limited to its pleasant aroma. It actually has a solid role to play. Coconut oil is miles ahead of other oils in protecting your hair from damage caused by styling and other haircare products (2)! Not only does it reduce hair damage, it also prevents it so you can rest easy when you style your hair. Just like other oils in this mixture, coconut oil too has properties that help in increasing your hair length. Among the other benefits of coconut oil, prevention from lice, protection from sun, and hydration of your tresses are important ones.

The concoction you’ve been preparing is now ready for use! Apply the mixture of oils on your scalp and hair. Make sure you apply gentle pressure during application as vigorous rubbing can lead to hair breakage. Use the tip of your fingers to massage the oil in your scalp. This helps the oil penetrate the deeper layers of your scalp and reach the roots of your hair. Ideally, your hair massage with this mixture should last for 15 minutes. Once you’re done massaging both your scalp and hair, move on to the next step.

Now that the massage is done, take a clean towel and soak it in hot water. Take it out of the water, squeeze the excess moisture, and wrap the warm towel around your hair. The steam from the towel will condition your tresses and will help the oil to penetrate the deeper layers of your hair shaft. You should keep the towel wrap on for no longer than 3 minutes. This step is very important. So, make sure you don’t get lazy and skip it!

Congratulations on making it this far! We’ve come to the final step of having healthy hair and it’s by far the easiest one. Get into the shower and wash your hair as you normally would. The only thing you need to bear in mind is that you need to use a mild shampoo. Opt for a chemical-free variety as a shampoo with chemicals can put all the hard work you’ve done so far to waste! After shampooing, condition your hair with a gentle conditioner and rinse thoroughly.
