Crying for a valid reason, no reason, or unknown reason – it’s all legitimate during pregnancy. Somehow mothers-to-be become exceptional attention receivers – even if inadvertently. But here are few reasons why pregnant women may cry. Let’s do a countdown from 52:

  1. You bring the child into the world eventually!
  1. You get into labor (at this stage you will be screaming too).
  1. Everybody scoops out the ice-cream before you go for your next.
  1. You watch Star Wars.
  1. You wonder if your pet and your child will get along.
  1. You wonder if your pet will receive the same attention that it receives now.
  1. Your partner asks you to relax and takes up most of the chores.
  1. You receive quite a lot of caring messages congratulating you on pregnancy.
  1. You will recall your childhood and the care your parents gave you.
  1. Reading children’s story books.
  1. You look at all the pics you took so far since you realized you were pregnant.
  1. You can’t take up adventure sports.
  1. You can’t go on a holiday.
  1. You seem to be counting the days for the delivery, and it seems weeks away.
  1. You so want your mother around that if she isn’t in the vicinity, you cry.
  1. Not to forget that you can be very childlike in your demands. So if there is a thing that is unfulfilled, you can weep like a baby.
  1. Sometimes you also seem naive.
  1. You are forgetful.
  1. You don’t have anything organized.
  1. Your favorite show is no longer on the air.
  1. You are asked if you are having twins.
  1. You look at the onesies, the tiny pair of socks and mittens.

  1. You go to the baby store and explore baby stuff.
  1. You have to visit the washroom often and you hate it.
  1. You try to get comfy by all means, and yet don’t find comfort anywhere.
  1. You wonder if any compliment you receive is genuine – “Your skin is glowing!” Really? “Oh, I thought it was sweat.” And you break down.
  1. Your favorite food isn’t available at your usual eating joint.
  1. You don’t like anything.
  1. You cry because you can’t help falling asleep most time.
  1. You cry because you are exhausted all the time.
  1. Nothing fits, so you have an all-maternity new wardrobe.
  1. You are getting more busty plus what’s up with the nipples!
  1. You are told you have put on more pounds than what is necessary.
  1. You see your extra pounds with each doc visit.
  1. You see your baby inside you on ultrasound.
  1. You hear your child’s heartbeat for the first time.
  1. Your mom shows you all the baby accessories she saved from your childhood for her grandchild.
  1. Your partner got your mom presents/roses/greeting cards on Mother’s Day, and you are overwhelmed.
  1. Your mom told you most of the hair fall occurs post delivery.
  1. You are already worried about regaining shape post delivery.
  1. You are already bothered about the stretch marks.
  1. You puked and showed up at work with remnants on your collar and hair.
  1. Your partner forgot to buy you your toiletries.
  1. Your weekdays and weekends are all alike.
  1. No McDonals, no deep fried foods.
  1. You throw up so often that sometimes you are scared before you throw up next.
  1. You are not allowed drinking.
  1. Someone ate your food.
  1. National Geographic just aired a mommy mammal with her baby.
  1. Watching that cute baby on the commercial.
