7 Things Every Pregnant Woman Should Do, At Least Once

As soon as you learn about your pregnancy, there are several things that come to your mind. You spend hours thinking about baby names; you try to find out everything that you can with respect to babies before your little one arrives; you even prepare your delivery bag that you are going to take to the hospital on the D-Day. But, everything that you do is all the grownup responsible stuff. You are a little wary of indulging in anything that you love because you fear that it takes away from the seriousness of the situation. However, there are a few things that every expecting mom should do before the due date arrives. Here, we bring you some of them:

1. Wear Your Favorite Dress

The moment that your baby belly starts showing, you are very scared of wearing anything that is body-hugging or will show your curves in an unflattering way. But, trust us, a lot of things are just in your head because of the stigma attached to it. Nothing looks unflattering. So, if you believe that there is a dress just made for you, don’t be hesitant to wear it. You can do so on your girls’ night out or the date night if that’s where you feel the most comfortable.

2. Gain Sympathy Points From The Traffic Cop

Of course, this is not to encourage you to break traffic rules. But, if you do find yourself in such a situation ever, you can surely ask for some leeway. And, the traffic police will surely not be able to deny a pregnant woman’s request. Trust us, the sympathy card works wonders!

3. Play A Prank

Not a complicated one, don’t worry. Picture this. You are in a grocery shop or a bus and a random stranger approaches you. They congratulate you for the “good news”. Just pretend to be taken aback and sheepishly tell them that you aren’t pregnant. Then, just slyly wait for their face to go all red! Relish that look on their face before you break it to them that you were just kidding.

4. Indulge In Some Prenatal Massage

With all the backaches and foot aches that accompany pregnancy, just the thought of a massage might sound like heaven to you right now. Then, don’t think twice before indulging in it. All you have to do is ask the masseur to be gentle with you. Also, in case you want to double-check whether it’s alright, you can always consult your doctor once before going for it.

5. Catch Some Good Sleep

Once your little one is here, you might not get enough sleep. With all the napping, feeding, and diaper changes during the middle of the night, you might catch a disturbed sleep at best. So, try and get a good sleep whenever you can during your pregnancy. We know that it may be difficult due to your growing baby belly, but don’t compromise on your sleep on the good days.

6. Take Some “Me” Time

Another thing that you’ll get very little of after your munchkin is here. That is why take some time off for yourself right now. Do everything that you wish to during this “me” time. If you feel like reading a book, do that. If you want to wake up in the afternoon, take sick leave. You feel like going on a weekend getaway, don’t hesitate. Try and reconnect with the idea that you are still your own person, apart from the sweet, little angel growing within you.

7. Eat One Tub Of Ice Cream

Of course, how can we forget food? For most parts of the pregnancy, you’ll have to be careful of what you eat. But, one cheat day is allowed. So, pick a day and eat one bucket of ice cream. Or the fried chicken (in case dessert is not your cup of tea).
