Being an adult is not an easy job. There are new challenges that we encounter everyday. And modern problems require modern solutions. Unfortunately, our parents can’t teach us everything. Sometimes it is up to us to figure out a couple of shortcuts to save the day. Life is all about adapting and learning new things. Besides, who doesn’t love a smart hack that saves themselves time and energy? So, would you like to know some tips that your parents couldn’t teach you? Read on to know them all!
1. Make Sure They Can See The House Number From The Street
One common mistake new house owners or even people renting out places make, is to mark their house number right next to their door. As aesthetic as this looks it doesn’t make a lot of sense. It actually makes finding your house difficult for people who want to come over or the delivery guy. So make sure you find a way to paint or mark the house number near the gate. This way it is easily visible from the street and you will receive your much awaited packages and houseguests without a hassle!
2. Hang The Shopping Bags At The Back Of Your Cart
Who likes doing two trips in and out of the grocery store just to unload the bags into their car? Nobody. If you’ve got one too many bags and can’t seem to fit them in the cart, this is the life hack for you. The back of your cart usually allows you to hang at least two bags so that you can easily wheel all your bags to your car at the same time. Make use of it the next time you go shopping!
3. A Hack For When The Electricity Goes Out
Having the lights go out all of a sudden when you are home alone may be your worst nightmare and we can see why. It can be disorienting and scary. But fear not! There is an easy way to check to see if the lights are out everywhere or if it’s just a problem in your building. And the best part is that you don’t even have to get up from your safe spot at home. When the electricity goes out, simply reach for your phone and check to see what wifi connections are available. If you see a few familiar ones from your locality, then you know that the issue just might be at your place. But if there are hardly any connections available on the list, then you know that everyone is affected. This will help you decide what to do next without having to go out in the dark and look for your neighbors.
4. Mention Your Food Allergies To The Server
The last thing you want to do is end up in the ER after what was supposed to be a nice night at a restaurant. To avoid any disaster from occurring, mention that you have an allergy instead of just telling your server to take out a specific ingredient. For example, if you are allergic to gluten, let your server know instead of telling them to make your dish gluten free. Besides, people take allergies way more seriously than preferences anyway!
5. Brush Your Teeth With Your Non Dominant Hand
Instead of using your dominant hand for every action, exercise your non-dominant hand by using it to brush your teeth. This is also a great way to ensure that you are not brushing too fast or pressing down too hard on your teeth as this will hurt your gums. You’ve got two hands so make sure to put both of them to work!
6. Get An Air Humidifier To Help With Sleep
Being an adult means never getting enough sleep. You spend your time either working, trying to unwind or overthinking in bed. Using an air humidifier will help with this problem and help calm you down and sleep like a baby. You can even get one that you can add different essences to, to help you relax and de-stress. No more sleepless nights!
