You can ask any parent, and they will tell you that they have the naughtiest kid in the world. We admit that kids are supposed to be mischievous by nature, but they tend to be evolving and outdoing their parents in terms of creative approach to naughtiness. Whether breaking things and hiding them, painting the dog, or running wild and pants-free in the neighborhood, none of them will surprise a new parent as they are probably experiencing all of these daily. However, thankfully there are ways to keep your little ‘Dennis the Menace’ in control. Here are some tips from parents of the naughtiest kids who have collected their cheat codes of dealing with the little monsters and outsmarting them. Read on to know them all.

1. A Child Who Refuses To Hold Hand On The Road

Every parent receives that mini heart attack when their child suddenly hits rebellion mode on the road and slips out of their grip in heavy traffic. While it is a nightmare, almost every child has done it as a part of childhood. It is probably the thrill of running that makes them do things like these. Thankfully, child-friendly straps will help you hold on to your kid even if they leave your hand, and this is also one way to ensure they are not lost in a crowded place.

2. A Child Who Refuses To Be Punished

It’s evident that no one willingly likes to be punished, but when someone says you are grounded, you automatically have to let go of privileges like tv and video games and repent over whatever you did. But say, your child refuses to cooperate and won’t accept the punishment. Of course, this is a pickle for a parent, but instead of getting angry or annoyed with your kid, you need to explain with utmost patience why punishments are ways to see you improve and not make the same mistake again. Also, don’t let it turn into a game of ego. This way, your child won’t get the real reason behind getting punished and will stick to proving their superiority.

3. A Child Who Is Addicted To Snacks

This one is tricky, for children need to be taught healthy food habits right from the beginning. It is okay to occasionally have a cookie or candy, but this shouldn’t be a regular habit. Make sure you set the example by relishing a fruit as a family or baking healthy cookies at home. If they ask for a treat, make it a gift for a reward, like each time they clean their room or have a bowl full of soup, they get to eat candy of their choice. You can also decorate the salad in the shape of their favorite characters to see that they are excited about eating healthy.

4. A Child Who Refuses To Eat

Most kids refuse to eat at some point in time, and that is a phase that scares parents the most. They are independent eaters, so you can’t just shove a puree in their mouth. Also, when you panic and give in to something they would want to eat, they take it as a way of getting whatever they want. But you need to understand that kids will eat when they are hungry, and you don’t have to force feed them when they don’t want to. You don’t need to worry about a thing until they are active and moving. Ensure they drink lots of water as kids have a higher chance of getting dehydrated.

Once you are a toddler’s parent, you have officially seen it all. No matter how poised and classy you have been all your life, once you step into parenthood, there will be a lot of situations where you have to run behind your kids who defy clothes. The best way to have your practice is to make everything a game for the kids. So you can close your eyes and count to 10 to see if they button their shirts and put on their pants.

Even the most docile kid can have a naughty phase where they experiment and explore everything around them. As parents, it can be hard to put up with the pranks of your little monster, but that is their age to be naughty and run around. Of course, you must ensure they are safe, but also let them be. You should sometimes ask your parents how naughty you were and thank them for bringing you up right! So, what is the naughtiest thing you have done as a kid? Let us know in the comments section!
