One such occasion is that our our weddings, where we adhere to tightly set customs, rituals and protocols. One such custom within weddings deals with the small matter of wedding rings.

It can be said that 99 percent of all people who wear wedding rings, wear them on their ring or fourth finger. But why? Our former favorite explanation, however, was one which said that the ring finger carries an artery that runs all the way from it’s tip to the heart – a sweet and succinct explanation that made us feel good about a tradition we couldn’t otherwise explain.

However, even our limited anatomical know how suggested that it was highly unlikely that the ring finger was the only finger to carry within it an artery, and that all arteries eventually lead right to the heart, if you’re still living that is.

So, then, why do we wear rings on the fourth finger? There’s a new theory, and we really like it. It’s beautiful, it’s well put across, but most of all, we don’t think we’ll ever need another reason to wear our wedding rings on our ring fingers, and to us, that’s all that matters.
