Layer It Up

Layering not only provides you with the right warmth but is one of the best ways to look effortlessly stylish during the chilly months. If you’re not a pro when it comes to layering, don’t worry; below, we have listed a few ways you can layer it up:

  • Wear a jacket or trench coat over a stretchy t-shirt that covers your baby bump.
  • Pair your favorite bodycon dress with a trench coat or a jacket.
  • Wear a blazer over your favorite shirt, top, or t-shirt.
  • Style it up with sweaters and cardigans.

Check If Your Existing Winter Clothes Fit

Like we said before, you don’t have to go for a maternity shopping spree for the winter months. Check your wardrobe for baggy jumpers, sweaters, or other items with extra stretch that can accommodate your growing bump. If you’ve got cardigans, jackets, or trench coats that might be a little tight, you can simply leave them unbuttoned. Wear a t-shirt or jumper underneath and complete the look with a scarf, depending on the weather.

Scarf

A winter scarf is a trendy cold-weather accessory that can be styled in infinite ways. From infinity and knit scarves to pashminas and blanket scarves, the options are endless. They are perfect for a light breeze or a nippy day.

You can go for a colorful scarf to add a pop of color to your whole outfit or choose a neutral color that easily blends with your look. They come in different knit patterns, colors, and designs whether you’re looking for something basic or a bit over the top.

Maternity Jeans & Leggings

It’s best to invest in a pair of maternity jeans somewhere around the second or third trimester to make sure that you don’t find yourself struggling to squeeze into it towards the last few months of your pregnancy. Maternity jeans are an excellent investment as it comes with an elasticated waistband that makes it easy to slip it on and take it off without the hassle of doing up your fly.

Moms-to-be also vouches for leggings as the comfiest option during pregnancy. You can pair it with oversize shirts, jumper dresses, and tunics.

Boots Become Your Best Friend

Stilettos may look stylish, but when you’re with a bump, it’s best to make the switch to flats and sneakers to reduce the risk of falling. And towards the end of your pregnancy, when your bump has fully grown, bending over to tie shoelaces may seem like an impossible feat.

Since flats may not be the ideal option during winters, it’s best to go for a pair of slip-on boots or shoes that offer good grip and have enough room inside even when your feet get slightly swollen. Shearling boots or uggs are also a great option to keep your feet warm and cozy during winters.

Skip Maternity Panties

Your changing body shape and size might make it a necessity to shop for new bras when pregnant. You might also need to purchase a couple of nursing bras towards the end of your pregnancy. But when it comes to panties, your existing undies will most likely fit you just fine.

So, unless you own high-waist panties or tight waist thongs, you can skip shopping for maternity panties as your cotton underwear will be just as comfy as before.

Whether it is summer, winter, or spring, you don’t have to compromise on your style just because you’re pregnant. With the right maternity staples in your wardrobe, you can flaunt your pregnancy bump in style even while layering up.
